Back-to-school 2026

The Back-to-School program is an annual project that aims to meet the educational needs of 200+ vulnerable children by providing a backpack full of school supplies including various notebooks, pencils, pens, drawing notebooks, crayons or markers, glue, scissors, and rulers, and a partial uniform including shirt, underwear, and socks. This year, 9 rural communities will be impacted and we are needing donors to help make this happen. $50 can send a child to school for the entire year, prepped with everything they need towards breaking cycles of poverty within their family.
Scholarship program

Meet our 2025 Scholarship Recipients! Their education level ranges from elementary through high school to university and seminary level! Each of these students has their own story of overcoming obstacles and making sacrifices to get to where they are today. We are proud of their dedication, and know that God has great plans for each of them.

As we are reviewing applications for School Year 2026, we are looking for donors to partner with students in Honduras by contributing to our scholarship program. We believe education is a tool that God can use to transform lives, and we want to be a part of that!

VER partners with a local church after-school program. The objective of this program is to provide mentorship, biblical teaching, and nutritious meals to at-risk children in the community. They currently have over 60 students enrolled in the program that attend once a week and is run by volunteers from the church. Throughout the year, they offer free dental cleanings, medical checkups, and educational activities that help expand the child's worldview and perspective.
The Golden years

A team of university psychology students has begun a collaboration with VER International to develop an initiative called “The Golden Years” that is focused on elderly adults in a community of Comayagua, Honduras.
Some older adults face physical illness and isolation, which has a negative impact on their emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

The collaboration between the students and VER International aims to provide comprehensive support to this population. Through an approach that combines psychology and social work, the project seeks to address the situation holistically, offering psychological care and spiritual guidance.
Healthy Homes

This program is a gospel-centered, relationship-based mentorship for impoverished rural families, with the goal of helping them break cycles of poverty in a variety of ways:
-
Making healthy and safe home improvements like replacing dirt floors, roof repairs, clean water space, sanitation/outhouses, ventilated stoves, and stable & secure housing structures
-
Facilitating healthy, violence-free family relationships like pastoral counseling, parenting guidance, and assisting common-law couples to legally marry
-
Increasing the physical wellness of family members like medical checkups and nutritional support
